He was very surprised by all the transitions and was very responsive by the end. Downward transitions need work, he tends to lean on my hands and pull me forward. I need to work on making sure my bum stays in the saddle and my legs are on in the downward transitions.Then I did perfect warmup 3 in the arena - that was amazing! Thinking about the breathing really helped. He was softening a lot by the end, and we got some good lengthening. Walk needs more work in this exercise, I think because he has a big head movement in walk and I need to get better at following it. Lots of learning for day 1!"
