How It Works
Step 1: Select Your Workbook of Choice Start in order with volume 1 Perfecting Rhythm OR mix and match books to custom build your own unique training plan. 1 book = 1 month of training plans. The title of the book = the theme for that month so select the book which you can commit to focusing on for the full 4 weeks.
Step 2: Follow the Training Plan
"Wax on, Wax off!" (Like the Karate Kid.) Use the 4-week step-by-step program to practice targeted drills, including warmups, cooldowns, pole, cavaletti or dressage exercises with variations tailored to your riding level and arena size.
Step 3: Track Your Progress
Monitor your improvement with progress trackers and goal-setting tools that keep you motivated and on course for success.
Step 4: Ride with Confidence
Apply your newly honed skills in training and competitions, knowing you’ve built a solid foundation for consistent, accurate tests.

The exercises are structured, clear, and work for different skill levels. My horse and I are still beginners, so I liked that each workout had easier options to start with. It’s not just a bunch of random tips—you’re actually given a plan to follow, like homework for you and your horse, which makes the progress feel really intentional. The added perk of getting video feedback from a coach is a huge win. I wasn’t expecting that kind of hands-on support, but it made a big difference when I wanted to make sure I was doing the exercises correctly. The quality of the content is great, the visuals are well done, and I love how everything is explained in plain English. No fluffy filler—just solid, actionable steps. If you’re willing to actually put in the effort (don’t just skim and forget it), you’ll see results.Highly recommend for anyone serious about improving their dressage skills

Krystal Kelly’s approach is like having a coach who gets your struggles but still knows how to push you to be your best. Her step-by-step 28-day plan is easy to follow, even for beginners like me who sometimes feel like their horse knows more than they do.The exercises are simple yet effective, and the humor sprinkled throughout made me feel more confident—like I wasn’t alone in figuring this out. Plus, the focus on building rhythm and connection gave me practical tools to feel more “in sync” with my horse. It’s not just about the technicalities; it’s about partnership and trust. If you’re new to dressage or just want to feel like a ninja of transitions, this workbook is for you. I’m not ready for the Olympics (yet), but thanks to Krystal, I know I’m heading in the right direction!

🔹 Follow a Progressive Order: Each book introduces different variations, so working through them in sequence can help you develop skills step by step.

Who is Coach Krystal Kelly?
Coach Krystal Kelly is a certified FEI II Show Jumping Coach and founder of a world-class training program designed for ambitious equestrians. She has extensive experience training with top riders and coaches across Europe, and her accomplishments include competing in international events and coaching riders to achieve their goals.
What is Coach Krystal Kelly’s training philosophy?
Her holistic approach focuses on the trifecta of success: Biomechanics, Mindset, and Muscle Memory. Using a science-backed, step-by-step curriculum, she helps riders overcome plateaus, undo bad habits, and build lasting skills to excel in their sport.
Why is the introduction the same in each book?
The introduction provides essential context on how theguide toworkbooks are structured and how to use them effectively. It’s designed to help readers get the most out of each book, regardless of which one they pick up in the series. If you’re familiar with the concept, we understand it might feel repetitive, but it’s there to ensure consistency across the series for new readers. Especially as you may do the books out of order or mix and match them.
Why are there journal pages in the book?
The journal pages are included because research has shown that journaling and reflective writing are powerful tools for personal development and success. Studies have demonstrated that writing about goals, experiences, and progress can enhance self-awareness, improve learning retention, and increase motivation. For example, research published in Psychological Science shows that writing about personal experiences can lead to better cognitive processing and a deeper understanding of one’s actions. Similarly, a study in the Journal of Experimental Psychology found that journaling can boost goal achievement by helping individuals track their progress, clarify their thoughts, and stay focused on their objectives.
In the context of riding, journaling allows riders to reflect on their training, analyze what worked or didn’t, and set actionable goals. It creates a space for you to actively engage with your learning process, which can lead to greater success in the long run. Of course, if you don’t find journaling helpful, you’re welcome to skip the pages, but for many, this process has been proven to enhance both performance and mindset.
Does this book include detailed instructions on achieving the correct rider position, or is it more focused on exercises and practice?
Our philosophy focuses on learning through doing, rather than just reading about concepts. While many books might overwhelm you with detailed descriptions of what the "perfect" rider position should look like, we believe the best way to improve is through targeted exercises that help you feel the changes in your body. Think of it like the "Wax On, Wax Off" approach from The Karate Kid—it's through repetition and active practice that real progress is made.
Research in motor learning supports this approach, showing that physical practice is far more effective than just reading about techniques. A study published in Frontiers in Psychology found that active participation and repeated movement are crucial for mastering physical skills, as it allows your body to internalize the proper mechanics.
So, while reading is important, true improvement comes from actively engaging in exercises that train your body. It’s not about memorizing descriptions; it’s about building muscle memory through practice, and that's where real change happens.
That is why our workbooks focus on getting you IN THE SADDLE applying targeted exercises based on biomechanics rather than lengthy, boring descriptions with technical jargon no one understands.
Is this book suitable for kids?
This book is specifically designed for adult amateurs who are serious about improving their riding skills. While we’ve had instructors use it with their students and some younger riders also benefit from the exercises, the content and examples are geared toward adults. The book includes concepts and stories that are more relevant to adult experiences in the equestrian world, so it's not specifically written for children. However, if you're a younger rider or an instructor working with students of varying ages, the exercises can still be valuable.
Are there a lot of exercises in the book?
The book is designed to provide a focused and structured approach to improving your riding, with a new warm-up, main session, and cool-down each week. The goal is to help you develop real skills through carefully selected exercises that gradually increase in difficulty, offering variations to make them more or less challenging as needed. This way, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel or create new pole exercises every day—something that’s not realistic for most riders. By focusing on quality and progression, these exercises help you make consistent improvements without feeling overwhelmed by an endless list of drills.
How are your books different from other pole or exercise books out there?
Our books take a unique approach by focusing on a structured, progressive system rather than offering a large quantity of exercises. Many pole or exercise books provide endless lists of drills, but we believe true progress comes from focusing on key exercises that help you build strength, technique, and consistency over time. Each week, you’ll have a new warm-up, main session, and cool-down, with variations in difficulty to adjust to your skill level. This allows you to continually challenge yourself without the need to create new exercises constantly, which can be unrealistic for most riders.
Additionally, our exercises are designed with the adult amateur in mind, emphasizing practical, achievable results that lead to tangible improvements in your riding. We avoid overwhelming you with fluff or unnecessary content and instead focus on exercises that deliver real, measurable outcomes. Whether you’re training alone or with an instructor, our books give you the tools to see steady progress without feeling lost in an endless sea of exercises.
